ChiFS - File Sharing over Tor

ChiFS (“Chives”) is a system for distributed file sharing, search and discovery on top of the Tor anonymity network. For more information, visit the website: https://chifs.org/.

This repository holds the source code of the ChiFS.org website and is the primary location for protocol specifications, documentation and discussion.

Building the website

You’ll need to have Pandoc, make and curl installed. Then simply run make and the complete site should end up in the output/ directory.

Structure of this repository

  • md/ holds the website content in Pandoc-flavored markdown. The directory structure resembles the menu structure. All files should be mentioned in the Makefile, otherwise they will not be built into the output.
  • static/ hold static files that are copied as-is to the output directory, provided that they are mentioned in the Makefile.
  • ideas/ is the place where ideas for future protocol development go.
